Physiotherapists assist people to stay active by helping to restore and maximize their strength, function and movement. Physiotherapists are highly trained professionals with in depth knowledge of the body and how it works.  Through movement, manual therapy, exercise and advice a physiotherapist can treat a person’s overall health and wellbeing, keeping them pain free, active and independent through all stages of life.
Several physiotherapists in our Kinatex clinics have developed an expertise in areas such as orthopedics, neurology and oncology. At Kinatex Centre de Santé Pelvienne, our physiotherapists are trained to offer expert care in areas such as: Pelvic Health, Pediatrics and Pre Natal and Post Natal care..

Physiotherapy - Pelvic Health

Pelvic Health is a specialized area of physiotherapy. Pelvic Health physiotherapists assess and treat various conditions that often involve the pelvis and pelvic floor muscles. These muscles play an important role in bladder & bowel function, sexual function, as well as pre and post natal health.

Pelvic Health Physiotherapists are registered physiotherapists who have specialized in the treatment of the pelvic health concerns in men, women, children, and the trans population.

Pelvic floor/health physiotherapy is proven effective in the treatment of many conditions, including:

  • Urinary incontinence
  • Difficulty urinating
  • Bowel incontinence
  • Constipation
  • Pelvic organ prolapse (including the bladder, uterus, and rectum)
  • Pelvic pain disorders (Vaginismus, Dyspareunia, Vulvodynia)
  • Pre-natal & postpartum pelvic pain
  • Painful intercourse
  • Prostate problems
  • Erectile dysfunction
  • Gender affirming surgeries

Whether you are a woman struggling with painful intercourse, a runner who leaks, a mom with a child suffering from chronic constipation, a man who has had prostate surgery or a member of the trans community navigating the pre or post operative period – our team of pelvic health physiotherapists can help.

Physiotherapy - Pediatrics

Pediatric physiotherapy is recommended for your child’s development or posture, if there are problems achieving motor development milestones.

Our pediatric physiotherapists are specifically trained and have years of experience in identifying and treating a wide variety of pediatric conditions including:

  • Delayed or impaired motor development (balance and coordination)
  • Orthopedic conditions
  • Postural Issues
  • Torticollis
  • Plagiocephaly (flat head)

Individualized treatment sessions are structured through play, postural correction strategies, as well as other hands-on techniques.

Because of the complex needs of the child and the family, the physiotherapist may work with many other disciplines including doctors, psychologists or occupational therapists.

Physiotherapy - Breastfeeding Problems

Specially trained physiotherapists can recognise, assess and treat common problems that arise during breastfeeding including:

  • mastitis
  • breast pain
  • engorgement
  • blocked ducts
  • latch problems

In many cases, all it takes is an accurate assessment and treatment by a physio to get you back on track! Our physiotherapists have specific training and the unique skills to help moms struggling with breastfeeding. They will work with you to develop an individualized treatment plan which may include drainage massage, connective tissue techniques or a consultation with one of our lactation consultants
